Dr. Bernard T. Fuller, who is President and Founder of The Barnabas International Group, was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Before beginning his formal Biblical training in 1977 at the Baltimore School of the Bible, he worked in construction and worked as an electrician. In 1978, God led him to the Washington Bible College located in Lanham, Maryland where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies; after which he attended Dallas Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Arts in Christian Education and Master of Theology in Pastoral/Urban Ministries.

​On September 1, 1988, Dr. Fuller assumed the position of Chairman of the Department of Urban Studies at the Washington Bible College. While teaching, he also founded the New Song Bible Fellowship Church and attended Howard University School of Divinity where he received his Doctorate of Ministry in Religious Education.

​

After teaching for 12 years in 2001, Dr. Fuller was led by God to establish The Barnabas Group. Inc, (also known as the Barnabas International Group): A

ministry that exists to come alongside Community leaders, Churches and Civic organizations in times of challenge to help them experience a better quality of life and to assist in building better and more vibrant Communities. The Barnabas International Group is named after a first-century disciple of Jesus Christ who is mentioned often in the book of Acts; whose name means "son of encouragement; (see Acts 9:10-28 and Acts 15:36-39).

It is the desire of Dr. Fuller and each Barnabas staff member that we, like this disciple are able to encourage, equip, enrich, and empower community leaders so that they are able to help others experience a better quality of life as well.

​

Dr. Fuller comes with a variety of life experiences. God has used him to minister to business leaders, as well as church leaders and students at Bible Conferences and on college campuses; locally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Fuller has also been involved in working with married couples, singles, youth, and children’s ministries as well as church planting, leadership development and other pastoral related ministries over the last 35 years.

At present, Dr. Fuller continues to serve as the President of the “Barnabas International Group”. He is also the Senior Pastor of  New Song Bible Fellowship Church in Lanham, Maryland. His best friend and wife is Brenda and they have been blessed as parents to have two wonderful young adult children.
